Well, at first glance it looks really good. But, as a tosai, it's too finished already and has no upside. The head seems like, in harder water, will get quite dark and the body, for a tosai, is short/fat. Sorry, but I don't think this one will keep it's look for more than a year or two at the max.

Best Asagi i've seen here ! ...........congrats
The important thing is that you like it !

Very clean even ......netting or reticulation very defined for a tosai.
I would definitely add him to my pond .

If this is Konjo Asagi then the scales are brilliant. I think the only issue is that it has too much Beni for a Tosai.

I will second Mike's assessment. It's a very pretty koi for right now but I don't think it will hold steady at this level. It's got very mature Asagi coloring for a tosai which means it probably has a short shelf life for quality. Get it to a show now and then who cares what happens in a year or two.
It does have very pretty skin but on a larger koi the conformation may be a shortcoming. It seems to carry a lot of weight in the front section of the koi and on a larger koi, you probably need more depth and strength in the rear.

Btw, all that I've studied for trying to buy tategoi Asagi says to buy them with very little coloring showing so they have time to develop it, typically a few years.
Still learning as I go but y'all can call me Marilyn

I showed this Asagi to Masaru Hosokai today and we discussed the Beni and scale development. Since this is a Konjo Asagi there is absolutely no issue with the scales being so dark. Narumi Asagi are the type that you want as little Beni as possible and you want the scales to be very light. As far as Beni goes he does not think it is too much but says that sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. This means that the Beni can be solid and stay as is or sometimes it can develop a lot of secondary beni but there really is no way to tell what will happen looking at it. He thinks this is a high quality fish.
