Like I said I have a couple of butterflies that look like that. It's not worth it to pull them from the pond to take a photo... This one was just an easy shot and I thought it may be of interest. I guess you will just have to take my word for it until the time that I need to pull them and can take a photo easily.

Not that I am in to butterfly koi, but I think I've seen enough to quantify what I said, being that I've NEVER seen one with barbels like these. It IS rare unless someone can show at least a "few" butterfly koi with barbels just like these.

Andrea, while that wagoi koi of yours does have a single split barbel, it really looks nothing like the butterfly in the original post. Not quite the same "rarity" factor to it IMHO.

Thank you Nancy for taking the time to find another example. As I said in my last post, I'm not that interested in butterfly koi, but have seen enough over the course of many years to say I haven't ever seen another like it. Glad you found another as it is quite an interesting look.
