2015 Kodama Grow Out

I visited the NJ location for my first time ever and picked out one. It was dark and rainy by the time I got home, so no good picture, but it is one of the ones in the top right of the picture on the site. You might be able to figure it out. Anyways, Ive never done one of these contests before, so it will be interesting to see what happens. My showa is about 6.5 inches right now. Would be interested to see if other people had purchased any and how there growout was going......


Sorry for the bad picture. This is right after I removed them from the bags into a bucket (3 hours in the car). I also picked up a small hi utsuri and gin rin kohaku

It looks like you have a Sanke, GR Kohaku and a Hi Utsuri. I don't see a Showa unless the one on the right is a Showa and not a Hi Utsuri. Then it would be a Showa, Sanke and GR Kohaku.

Quick update... As of today, my Sanke (thought it was gonna be a Showa, guess not) is 17.5 inches and my Hi Utsuri is 18 inches... I did not bother to measure the gin rin kohaku, as that barely grew :-(

Took a picture of this fish today so I figured I would post it. I always like looking at progression photos, so maybe someone will appreciate this. I gave away several fish this year, but this one made the cut somehow, just because the colors are so appealing to me. As for size, my only "Grow Out" fish turned out to be my slowest grower of all... only reaching 19.5 inches after all these years, while tosai I bought two and 3 years later have rocketed past this guy.
