For someone who might know... or you might email Karen @ KOI. She'd know for sure.

Are we (the new 2016 group) going to get our own 'study area' thread? We have not even officially started and I already have questions!

We've just been letting this one run for all the classes because sometimes the answer is in previous posts... but what is the question?

I had some questions from the anatomy section, but now I see they are answered for me in the phisiology section. Seems a lot of the same things are covered but in more detail!

Finally turned in revisions on the Water Quality module, hopefully it is all good and I can move on to the KOI Lab course with Spike.

Determined to complete everything in 2018 soon.

We gave 3 scholarships out this year but I think you might be the only one who frequents
the forum... but several of us have gone through the same courses so are familiar with
material. Are you having trouble with something in particular?

No not really just ranting that some of the stuff is quite repetitive. Waiting on the results of my filtartation test to see how I did there, I really did that test in my own way of understanding hope it wasn't too dumbed down so I fail. And heading into the subject I doubt myself on constantly. I still need to order the book and get a sock net. Also it handling fish in the later courses would it be wise of me to get the M222 stuff or clove oil to have one hand to make it easier on myself to keep them calmer when handling?

Not sure what you mean about dumbed down? First part starts slow and easy because many quit. Don't doubt yourself, the instructors will work with you. We at KOI want people to learn and be comfortable with the course and your koi and I'm thrilled you are taking it.

I like clove oil (hate the smell) but it's quick and its good to have on hand any way. Same with the sock net. If you are talking about Duncan's book, it is amazing. I keep one at work and one at home. His part of the course is tough but I love it and he is AMAZING.

I am looking forward to the book The sock net because of all my koi are still small I have not had a need for one. I just move from net to tub while in the pond and lift the tub easy when you are dealing with 4 to 8 inch fish. The dumbed down part its more of in my own words not all the technical proper terms used. The construction part is scaring me the most is what is bad. I am in the process of building a pond and I constantly am looking stuff up thinking will this be strong enough, will this size and material really work the way I need it to, can i get all the folds in the liner smoothed out enough the basic stuff. And to me it started off very fast to get through the bohr and root effect and all the hemoglobin blood stuff is still a little confusing to me I have actually been looking up more information on it just hard to find stuff relating only to koi and our closed off ponds.
