      Whats Bloomin

I always like to look at pictures of members gardens. This morning when I went for my stroll in the yard I took my camera. This is what is blooming today.

      Beautiful!
I've gone iris crazy so that first pic caught my eye.
Is it a peach or pink color?

What is the trick for growing Lupine and Foxglove?
I had one little Lupine growing 2 years ago and DH chopped it down.
I've bought at least 5 pots of Foxglove over the years and they just
      die out.

Thanks. We have something blooming from the earliest spring bulbs to the latest flowers of the fall. This is mostly my wife's passion. She started over 30 years ago when we moved in. It was something she did when our kids played outside. Over time the beds grew, and the kids got older and went other places to play.

Thanks. That is a peach color. Funny I thought about your Iris thread as I picked out 4 new ones this week. The two single blooms are new as well as two others that haven't opened yet. I will post pictures of them when they bloom.

Foxgloves grow like weeds for us. We let them go to seed and spread the seeds to where we want them next. They are a biannual so you can't expect them to come back every year.

I was lucky with the lupine. My wife also had no luck with them. I liked them a lot and was bound and determined to grow them. This is the fourth place I tried them and they seem to like it here. We had two plants return at first and let them go to seed. This year we have 3 bloomers and one that didn't come back. There are also a lot of little first year plants that I have high hopes for next year.

Wonderful flowers thanks for sharing. Lupine and foxglove are weeds around here. I,ve used roundup on thousands of foxgloves because I couldn,t separate them from the blackberrys trying to come up threw them. Since both plants like it so well here so well I am guessing they must like acid soil. I think the foxglove also likes semi shade because it grows by the millions all along our roadways up here and in the rainforest. I cracked up when I first saw some for sale in a store because I had always thought of it as the pretty plant that grows along the roads. For somereason it had never occured to me that it didn,t just grow wild everywhere.

What is the name of those iris I think I could squeeze those in somewhere. The red iris at Shrieners seem to all be brick colored yours looks more like a true red or a blue based red. Susie those are stunning .

Very pretty blooms! LOVE iris!! That yellow/purple one is awesome. Love the two iris pics that Bob posted.

My iris just started blooming in the last couple of days. The odd thing is I've got a couple that I don't know where they came from!! lol. All I can figure out is that they must have been part of large clumps that I busted up last summer and moved to another part of the garden and had never bloomed where they had been.
My new ones that I bought from the iris farm last year are about to bloom so I'm anxious to see them.
Going to venture up the road to the iris farm this weekend and find some more new ones.
