      Remembering Rudy

A little over a month ago the Koiphen/WWKC Family was told that one of our own, Rudy, was not doing well. Family, friends, and hospice have looked after him well for the last month. It has saddened us all to know that this morning he passed. Saying goodbye is never easy. Rudy how ever will not be forgotten and memories of him will live on with all of us.

This thread is a dedication to Rudy. Share your memories, photos, and stories of Rudy for everyone to enjoy as a tribute. Let his life and love be shared in each post so he may never be forgotten and always close to our hearts.

To Rudy.....WWKC Lifetime Diamond Member #1, Koiphen member # 106, Family, Friend.....

Rudy SNIFFED OUT Archivesisis, who was SNIFFING Shipisland.

I am saddened to read of RUDY's passing, (thanks to the posting at Facebook) may he Rest In Peace. I haven't been on Koiphen in approximately three plus years so I was not aware that he was ill.

The one thing that I will always remember RUDY directing a "statement" one evening to me -- was about catching me
"sniffing around Shipisland." I am laughing as I am "writing this" and every time I thought about this "revelation" I would chuckle.
Rudy, Rudy, ah did you "sniff out something 'fishy' [pun intended] that night" ... two years later that "sniffing" culminated in our marriage; we married two years to the day of my first message to and from S.I.!

I recall, one SNOWY night that he was on a return trip to his home and he was STUCK IN ALBANY AIRPORT* and decided he would go out and have a "brewsky" and had "alot to say" about his adventure; he was NOT a happy camper. A very FUNNY camper, but not a happy one!

Then, there were his quotes that were soooooo RUDY!: "Ain't that the cutest little bottle of Jack you ever did see?" ... Kathryn Winstead 10/2007 Fall Harvest

"God is a comedian playing to an audience too afraid to laugh."-- Voltaire

"It's not getting any smarter out there. You have to come to terms with stupidity and make it work for you."-- Frank Zappa

"There is love of course. And then there's life, its enemy." ... Jean Anouilh

May he be a BIG FISH in THE BIG POND in the sky as he was a mighty fine, all around nice guy here on earth. There were nights that he, S.I. and I had alot of cyberfun on Koiphen. (It was funny that any time we had a major snowstorm up in New York, rest assured, he would be on Koiphen that evening, spewing his wit!!!!!!

All happy memories. God bless our RUDY!

I met Rudy a couple of years ago at Steve's... he was one of the most honest, straight forward people I've ever met.
I'd never met him except on KP before seeing him at Steve's, and in 10 minutes you could have sworn you'd known him
      for years!

      Rest in Peace my friend...

We had a Koi Moving Party a couple years back. Dan (powerman) came down to help, here's Rudy in his favorite Sunday "Tux" helping to move fish.

Yes, Rudy loved all animals. One of my favorite threads was his baby fox thread. I am going to look for it and post it. He had a mom with her baby foxes in his backyard just about every spring.

The day that we met Rudy in person was at the KoiVillage pond pull get-together. Rudy and Dan and I and Jessie were the early arrivers. So we spent the day together pretty much. I had brought some grapes and Canteloupe. Rudy decided he was going to feed Jessie some grapes. She was pretending to be Cleopatra and Rudy was feeding her the grapes. Just hanging around getting to know each other. Here's the picture to prove it.

First time I met Rudy was at the Louisville show. He was covered in tats and looking at fish. I'm sure he was in shock when I ran up and started hugging him. Rudy, I know you are with us, I love you.

One of my favourite memories of Rudy, was the day he drove the Cobra to a Car Show. He spent most of the day walking round the lakeside beach oggling at young ladies clad in bikinis. On our way home, we stopped for a toilet break at a local tourist spot, as soon as he pulled up in the Cobra he was surrounded with young ladies wanting their pictures taken with him and the Cobra, after a while Steve and I left him to it and went out for dinner. Rudy arrived home an hour after us.
