Thanks. I think you should be able to get excellent growth even in your cold climate. After all, north japan has similar weather if not worse, so I think you could do it as long as you are willing to try. Good luck.

Don't forget to get measurements and enter your grow outs into the Virtual Koi/Goldfish show, see how well your selecting and husbandry stacks against the others in the grow out.

Last photo op before the growing season and I won't bowl her until Nov. She is about 17" now. I thought the body got a little better and shiroji is the main attraction here. sumi is not too shabby but beni is the weakest link. Some secondary beni that I hope will clean up. What do you all think?

Lol. Egg bound is an issue we have to deal with here. Definitely not easy fasting koi in warm climate.

Looks good. You are right on the beni, the color is not even throughout. You will have to just watch over time to see what happens. Hopefully its something that will correct with time and growth. Its definitely one to hold on to and see what happens this next year.

I'm hoping to have them moved out the end of this month/beginning of april, so I'll have a big update on all of them in the main forum and a showa update in this one
I thought they'd be out earlier as yesterday it was 62F but tonight it is 19!!!!! There's still snow all over the place too.

I was netting couple of other koi today so I thought I would catch her for a quick update. She's 51cm or 20" today so we'll see where she ends up by Nov. Some stretching of beni, hope it's not falling apart...

that's yet to be determined, I'm hoping everyone else could update their koi to make this grow out truly a learning experience.
