Bought this Beppu as a kohaku in June 2012
This was when I bought it
Now in March 2013, been noticing something happening on the shoulders......could this be turning into an Ai Goromo?

Looks like it to me. Enjoy. Nice koi by the way.
Maybe this well get the pros to chime in?
Lets hope!
Thanks for the reply!
Definite looks like its going to be an ai goromo to me.... A nice one at that since its taking awhile to develop. Keep updating this koi because I think it's going to be very nice.... That is to say if it turns out to be an ai goromo and not just a terrible kohaku.
Likely a male it looks like?

Update....progress is slow which is good....turning into a nice goromo I think.
Comments welcome, good or bad!
Its an ai goromo! and a spectacular one at that! Cant wait to see all the ai come up.
Look really nice right now but there are warning signs that the Beni may not be stable and is peaking. Didn't seem like it grew much length wise and it's gaining girth only. How big is it now? Please update again at the end of growing season.
Actually, I see the fish has done some very nice growing, not just in length but in overall mass/conformation. the head is a bit small, but other than that, looking at the previous pic and a wild guess here, I would the earlier pic it was around 43cm and the latest is around 55-60cm. The beni is changing/developing and does not appear weak from these pics. Sometimes when it starts to consolidate/move forward, it can appear to be weak, but this fish has some growing/developing yet to do. Far from over Cliff. Yes, btw, from all indications, it will be a very nice Ai Goromo! Enjoy!

thanks for the replies....thought I would post another pic....will notice she has a very nice long body!
It's doing really well. I see some ai netting starting to show on the second step as well! So, Cliff, what size is she now?
