A friend came over and brought me some coleus cuttings I did not have. She wanted too know if the Macho ferns were still available and I told her yes but not the pots. She was wanting too take them inside her house for the winter. Now these things are huge. The top frond reaches my shoulder so its about 5 foot tall and just as round. She was really upset when I told her I was leaving them outside. She said I can take them into my house and I told her how big a mess they would make. I finally told her too take the 2 Kimberly ferns and she was happy with them. They were going too stay outside too. They were about 3foot tall and wide..lol

Nice ferns. They are pretty but they sure do drop leaves all winter long! My home in Ohio had a porch across the front of the house. I hung 8 ferns up every year. I took them back to the greenhouse that I bought them from in the fall and stored them there until Spring.

These remind me a lot of the sword ferns that grow everywhere around here. They're so many and spread so fast that
I have dug them up with those huge root balls and toss them into the woods. Before they put up new fronds about May
I go around with a power hedge trimmer and cut them to the ground. Then in the spring you get all nice, new fronds.

Gary, what kind of pots do you use? Plastic, clay, or something else? You have so many huge, beautiful plants I wonder
how long the pots last for you? Mine don't seem to last long...

most of the pots you see are all plastic that I get at walmart or lowes. I have had some for years perhaps Nancu can tell you how long we have had those that looked like rusted ironwe got them about the same time and I bet she remembers.

It seems like it was 6 or 7 years ago at least. Mine have been outside 24-7 and are just as nice as they were when I got them.
