If there are any breeders you would like to see while I am in Ojiya let me know. I can't promise I'll be able to do it but I am always up for a challenge.
Hoping one of these years you get to go by Hide's and check out his Doitsu Gosanke feesh.
The first step towards getting somewhere, is to decide you are not going to stay where you are.

I can't find anything about him. Are you sure you have it right? There is Hideo but he's in Hiroshima.

      Russ,
At this time of year, can you explain what your process might be for bringing the koi back to the USA and then to the owner? I'm in the now frozen northeast with my pond covered. I do have an indoor qt setup but had no need to run it this year, which quite frankly I find quite refreshing. I'd like to not add it back to my task list right now.
If you were able to find something for me, could you hold it until spring? I would still qt upon receiving the koi, but it's just much easier for me in warmer weather.
If so, what would that entail? If you prefer to discuss privately, you can pm or use my email if you still have it. Thx!

You can see where a lot of us go for an additional koi fix.

      Russ,
      I have a special request for U:
Can U please ask the Japanese breeders...any...if they use yogurt, how they use it and benefits of it, next time U are in Japan.
I mean yogurt in water....and yogurt in food.
M Gardner told me they feed it to their special Koi...Please find what U can.

When we purchase Koi at this time of year everything thing is done as usual. The Koi are ready to ship app. 4 weeks after they are done with QT. This makes them ready for shipping about the middle to the end of March. We do have people we hold Koi for and there are explanations in the link.
