      Hi Mellisa

Well, Richard's journey is getting into the middle stages now and yes, he is producing some very nice fish. I like your Kohaku but I will also agree with Junichi, the body needs a bit of work. She appears to need a bit of exercise which will trim her middle and strengthen her tail or ozutsu area and enhance her overall powerful presence. She doesn't have to get to 32" to be competitive. I think her pattern will be very imposing even at 26-28" and that's probably 2 years away. Her Omoyo pattern has some nice balance to it and will look good at any size over 24".

Here's a couple more of Richards ake Nisai Kohaku from this past winter. The two step is mine and has somewhat the same body line as yours. Yours is one year older so it will be interesting to see what mine will look like next fall. She is still in my QTank at this time and will be released to the main pond early next month. So, time will tell.

I outlined the body with black to see what we are looking at. I'd have purchased this one in a heartbeat as I think it has the potential to grow big. Just becuase it is (possibly) pregnant at this stage of its life doesn't mean that it necessarily has poor bone structure.
I disagree, I don't think this will be a really big Kohaku. It does not have the bone structure for it.
people like to vehemently defend their purchases and find it incredulous that anything could be better
