The upper spill trough is where the TPRs for the back wall are fed from. Each of the four bulkheads will have a valve for regulation of flow. The balance of the water volume will be what makes up the waterfall flow.
The TPR valves look like this but without the screens.

We taped up the TPR openings and mounted the four across from the falls and GPRs.

The drains were covered and leveled and then we were ready for the Shot-crete. I always have the drains rough shot in first so the can set and won't move around with the rest of the work.

The lights are going to be 12 volt LED. I modified a Dream Pond flange to house them.

The lower filter pit has two Cetus units, the gravity flow static bio-filter for the skimmer lines, the UV light and the far wall TPR manifold. The pond pumps and air pump get mounted up on the shelf in the back.

I modified the Cetus units to prevent the rubber couplers from slipping off and installed two inch pvc bulkheads on the outlets.

I always not agree when people say "Bigger is better". But your pond set up is amazing. I can't wait to see it running with water. Good luck!

It looks incredible. I'm having serious pond envy.
It should be a beauty up and running.

Now we wait for a month while the shot-crete cures. Tom can clean up the yard and smooth coat the interior.

It looks like the pump after the sieves is above water level? Is there a reason for that?

I like the insulation around the pipes where they penetrate the gunite. Is that to protect the pipes from cracking due to shifting and expansion?

Do you have any night pictures of ponds that use those LEDs? Those look very interesting. Are you concerned with algae, or are they bright enough to just blast on through?

This is an optical illusion. They are very close to water level though. All pond lights will require periodic cleaning. We turned on the light out of the pond with a 12 volt transformer and it was very bright. How they work in the pond only time will tell.

Marilyn....you still have that big chunk of lawn that could be dug out and built into a pretty large puddle. Not suggesting anything mind you......but......

      Trough Return System for TPR

Kent I keep looking at your design and I am thinking of ways I may be able to incorporate a similar design for my pond. I want to have a water fall coming out of my common pit wall between the pond. I am using 4 3" bottom drains feeding an Ultrasieve III. Iím working on piping for that nightmare now, but then going to a 275 gallon tote for Bio that will be filled with strapping tape then Birdman has suggested a 4" outlet through a 4" Koitoit II and then back to my TPR and GPR. I currently have 4 2.00" TPR and 2 2.00" GPR in my current design. I am currently looking to hook up a ES8500 flowing 8000 for my Sieve TPR circuit Could I use your trough design and get a good water fall and good flow to all six TPR's?

Also can you send me the info on the LED lights and how to adapt them to a dream flange GPR I would like to incorporate 3-4 in my design.

      Thanks

      Greg

the light is by Nexxus Lighting, Savi Melondy (multi colors) or Savi Blanco( one color).

Don't get the Savi Note, it requires a controler.
