has anyone put one of these in the outlet pipe of a pump fed nexus?
I have used on outlets of moving bed, shower and anoxic filters. It should work just fine. Nathan recommends flow rate of approximately 1500 gph per his design. I used 4" pipe. At 1500gph, worked great, marginally at 3500gph and not at all at 6000gph.

It's still up there in the woods but I've never needed to use it again. It's been years and I'm sure the K1 is really nasty. Actually,
for some unknown reason a rat crawled into the top of the 4" pipe of K1 and drowned right after I created it. It was in there for
about a month before I even realized it. Never had it happen again but it's worth keeping an eye on the pipe. I put a piece of
epdm over the top with a small hole cut in it for the water inlet pipe to keep critters out. Didn't ever seem to effect the effectiveness
of the FF.
I'm feeding mine via a sand & gravel filter. As the filter stops up, the flow out and into the FF decreases. Once that happens, potentially the ball valve will become ineffective and foam will not be produced.
I wonder if the ball valve could be replaced with a PVC trap (that is turned upward) to meet the height of the required water level in the 6" Tee? The thought is water won't flow out until at the level required (which was what the ball valve was managing).
Why not just make a foam collection height controller like this:

Does anyone still run one of these? Thread seems to have died.
Still running mine on the outlet of a knock off bakki shower that gets 4500 GPH. Best filter for the money that can be had as I spent maybe 30 dollars on it and it is catching doc's. I think I am about page 32 or so of this thread

The most powerful point of suction in the pond occurs at our checking account. It's all Marges fault!
I'm making one of these unit but I'm having bit of difficulty adapting into my existing set up. Basically I need to connect my 1 1/2 hose (coming out of the filter) into a 2 in schedule PVC (to feed into the phoam tower). Can someone give me a list of connector/adapter I can use to make this transition?
I had a Clarity unit running for years, and it only produced foam if the water quality was really bad, like, the morning after a spawn. I took it out, and it sat unused for years. I repurposed it by filling it with chopped feather rock and using it as a summer wet/dry ("Bakki") shower.
