Sorry that I open this thread just with the pics and no details...
I'll try to give some more specs soon...

First I have to thank you for all the positive feedback...

I'm going to plaster the walls first to make it smooth, and then fiber glass and top coat.

I have been construction worker all my life.
First 10 years as carpenter and 15 years as scaffolding builder.
Now I work in a construction equipment rental company.
Therfor free access to the equipments and the knowledge about how to do this...hehe

Sorry brother... When the pond is finish, next project will be the new fence around the lot.
You can see how it will become in the first sketches...

After that my wife and I will make the garden to become a tropical garden.
At least so far we can go here with our cold winters.

The ground here is an old moraine from the ice age.
Tousands of years ago it was coast line here, and therfor it is all sand and round stones in the ground here.
You can see under the veranda, it is possible to get vertical walls in the ground.
All the sand and stones in "Mickey's ears" is set there after I digg the hole.
It shall be used outside the block walls when it is finished.
Therfor it looks so messy there.

Talking What is your average temperature . . .

      Year round in your area?
      Very pretty pond.
      Regards from Southern California
It is often said that land blessed with good natural water can produce good crops, rice, sake and beautiful women....and a few very fine Koi.

Great project. Very impressive, and you are doing a good job.

Are you going to put radiant heat in the pond floor?

Thank you for sharing your project, and looking forward to seeing more, especially the ERIC filtration.

We have four seasons here in Norway.
Summer from middle of may to end of september, autum from september to middle/end of october. Then winter from october to end of march, and spring from march to middle of mai.

The moust normal temp in the summer is +20 to 25*C, but sometimes it can be down to +10 to 15*C and up to +25 to 30*C.
Now in october normaly it is around +5 to -5*C.

In December, january and february we normaly have -10 to -20*C and some times down to -25 to -30*C.... Brrrr...
If you sprey water in the air then...it falls to the ground as ice...hehe

In my area we normaly have about 100cm of snow in the winter, but sometimes up to 120-130cm.
But not far from here a little higher up from sea level they often have up to 200cm of snow.

The max depth of my pond will become 200cm.
With a depth of 150-200cm it is possible to keep the koi alive in the pond without any heating.
It is toooo expensive to heat up the pond in the winter.
      Electrisity is very expensive here.

Often they put some styrofoam on the surface to make it not become that thick ice.

Some pics from our place in the winter...

      OK!!!....
      Some info first.
Max depth at the bottom drains will be 2 meters and it is about 20-cm sloap up from the drains to the side walls....so the walls will become about 180cm high, and about 50cm over ground level.
The "Mickey's eares" vill be about 130cm on max depth and about 25cm sloap.
The part beside the veranda ill become 155cm max depth and about 40cm sloape in...

I belive the pond will become about 40.000 litres.
I make two and two rows of blocks, then I plaster the blocks outside with waterproof sement plastering.
This because I didnt make space enough to stand with my body outside the pond walls to do the plastering.

It is about 15cm gap between the ground wall and the pond wall, so I just have space for the arm to set the the cement soupplastering with a brush.

Now I have adjusted the ground in the "ears" and run the wibro machine.
It is ready for styrofoam, armament net and concrete.

I have also set the armament for the wall under the veranda, but I forgot to take pictures before I went in for the night.

      Bending machine for the armament....

Sorry, but the Eric filter will not be buildt before the winter is over....
About 2/3 of the dirt I have digging up from the pond hole is placed just where the filter should been buildt, and I dont have time and posibilitys to move it now.
I have allready moved about 50 tonns of dirt with tractor and trailer ( 8 loads of 8 tonn each... but still there is that mush left.
