Really looking good Terje. Very nice.
Wow, beautiful woodworking! I really enjoy all your attention to detail...
And then the winter is soon coming back, and it's time to make the pond ready for the winter.
The pond got drained and cleaned, and new water in...
The water is about +7*C and the fish gets slow and lazy...
Just a little movie from when the pond was almost empty...
Why do you drain out most of the water? The fish don't seem to mind at least.
Cheryl
Because we have cold winters here (-25*C to -30*C (-13*F to -22*F at the worst...))
Therefore I have to stop the filters for about 5 months.
If I dont clean up the pond and give it new frech water before the winter, I dont think the water will hold good enough quality all over the winter.
Moust pond owners here in Norway does so...
Right now it is just +4*C (+39*F) in daytime and about 0*C in (+32*F) night time here...
With some fire in the stove and this view out of the windows...the winter can just come now...
That is so cool! Do you get a lot of condensation in there, mine is like a rain forest but it is much smaller.
Cheryl
No...
Some condensation there is, but just few drops...
Do you heat your water?
If the air under the cover is colder then the water, you get mush more condensation too...
Mine isn't heated but the air temp inside the cover is quite a bit higher than the air outside and my water temp is about 15 degrees higher than the average outside temp.
Cheryl
Hi guys...
Long time since I made any updates from my pond here now.
I got myselfe a camera drone, and the first test flight I made shooting our garden and pond.
Our pond still runs well all this time since we started it in 2011...
Thanks for the update; I had never seen this thread. It's an amazing build. Beautiful pond, and I love the way it comes right up to the sun room. I'm glad I don't have to deal with your winters!
Thank you so much...
I have a very small garden, so I did not have much of choice about where to make the pond, but even if I had a big garden, I should make it close to our sun room...(that actually was an patio when the pond got made)...
That is one of my first advices to peoples asking me about to build a pond.
"Make it close to where you stay when you chill out in the garden..." If you build your pond away from your patio/terrasse you have to walk away to your pond...
Then your pond does not become the view you want when you chill out in the garden.
Yes, the winter is the only drawaback about Norway....
Thank you my friend...
Yes I remember you was following my updates.
The pond has been running without any problems or any changes needed, since it was built.
Only thing I have done since I made it, is to make a new electric system for the pump room...with fuse box and made a new cabel from the house fuse box all alone for the pond.
Before I did have it connected to the grarage line.

The pon covered for the winter...
Long time, no see.....
After some trouble with frost issues in the walls of my Eric filter the last two winters, I descided to replace the Eric filter with rotary drum filter.
So I then demolished some of the internall walls of the Eric, and used the reminding walls as foundation for a new filter house.
I have now finished the house and installed the filter system, and Im very pleased by how it turned out.
