Mine is a rare, ugly one. He's a little shy, but I got him to peek out.

Here he is. His name is Ethel.
He is a cross betweena turtle, a tortoise, and a Basset Hound.

No, I don't know how that is possible.

Lats spring I set off to build a turtle pond, but after finding this forum it turned into a koi pond design and not so much a turtle pond.

Here is the original pond with the air turned off at night. Its 9'x25'x6' deep.

This summer I made a smaller pond specifically for the turtles as they are growing. Eventually I will end up making a 4th pond for them as adults. I have 1 Painted, 2 YBS, 1 RES, 1 Diamondback Terrapin, and a 3 legged YBS princess. The pics are from june and now I have the turtle pond planted with cattails and other plants for them to destroy

This frog showed up last year and moved into the turtle pond this year. He is there everyday and won't jump unless you touch him.

Turtley is in his summer pond, around 5 feet across with a small cascading stream. No filter, just fresh lake water each day added. Lots of plants. I just put a basking lamp and dock in there tonight...no pics of that yet, since it's getting cooler at night and less sun with the angle of the sun now.

Here is my turtle Rescue Rod, he was found in the road and the local pond club sent e mails out to find a home for him, and he ended up with me, he is very friendly and will come to you in the pond to get food!

I found this little guy on the carport today, he's a bit bigger than a quarter. I thinks it's a red eared slider, they often come from the pond across the road and lay eggs in our yard, but it hasn't showed me his head yet. He has sand on his back but he could have picked that up in the yard - I put him on a lilypad in the goldie/platy/gambusia/tadpole/frog pond and haven't seen him since.

His pattern looks more like a map turtle. I had wanted one cuz they stay small, but we don't see them up here in the pet stores much. He's beautiful!

Tuna mashed with a little wheat bread for the tadpoles(and anything else that wants it), I had it in my hand when I found him and missed the water.
