I’m trying to decide on which of these Sieves to get. Thoughts from anyone with experience with 1 or both of these greatly appreciated.

The Ultrasieve has a much sturdier body , and a far superior float and weir .
I had the aquaforte sieve III. Worked great. Now is up for sale as i upgraded to a combi/drum filter. Check out Cheryls install of her Smartsieve on FB.
Many complaints posted on the Smartsieve very few for the USIII.
Cheryl just finished installing her Smartsieve and she did a review of her first impressions:

For comparison here's an old but great video on how the US III works:

The Ultra III sieve looks awesome! It should be for $1700. I'd be happy with a used one if anyone is planning on changing their filtration anyway...
The Ultra III is a superior unit compared to the Cetus Sieve. I have two Cetus sieves and one Ultra Sieve III. The Cetus's always operates with water collected in the bottom of the screen. The crud sits in the collected water and disolves. I also had the rubber bellows kink on the one Cetus. Trying to get help from EA was a pain. Go with the Ultra III.
Years ago I had two Cetus. Bellows cracked, float leaked,.....and of course there is the internal 3" flow restriction. Replaced them with USIII units. Later upgrade them from 300micron to 200micron screens. One of the best "bits of kit" I have every purchased for a koi pond system. Never had a problem with them.
They are available here http://www.cascade-pond-supply.com/A...III-p-511.html
I have two ultra iii sieves on my pond.. worth every penny
