My fry hatched around mother's day. I will be going on vacation for three weeks. I'm leaving on the 23rd of June. I have some fry in a 55 gallon tank with 2 sponge filters. Will they be ok in there for 3 weeks with no care? Any suggestions on what to do? What can i do beforehand to prep them for a lonely 3 weeks on their own? thanks!

That's a lot of fry. If it were up to me I'd find a koi person near you and have them take care of the babies while you are away. There are plenty of people on this very forum that would probably be willing to help. 3 weeks is a long time for them to go without care and water changes. Anything could happen and you'd end up with a lot of dead fry.

As a last resort instruct a close friend on how to take care of them, pre-measure food and tell them all the major facts. But I really really really wouldn't leave a hundred fry alone for over half a month.

what if I made an isolation cage in my outdoor pond and shaded it while I was gone and added an autofeeder?

If you just make a really fine mesh box for some of them and put in lots of plants they should be okay.

ok cool. i think im having someone stay at the house and care for them. hopefully they'll be fine. or i could just skip the holy land cruise?

that depends on what is more important to you, I suppose...all i know is they must eat at least 5 times a day for proper development. twice that if going for great outcome.
