At what growth can I put some fry in the main pond without worrying about them gettin' eaten? I read where some in the ponds are growing so much faster, but I don't want to risk their poor lil lives!

I'd say 6". But i'd worry more about getting sucked into filtration system...Even at that size depending on your system.

Ditto that. We've had the little ones go down the BD and thru the skimmer. :eek1:

as soon as the fry are recognizable as fish and not larvae, the koi won't eat them...but as was already stated, the mechanics of the pond WILL eat them. I've had many fry raised in the settlement chamber.

I put mine out at close to an inch a few weeks ago. Then it snowed and they died.

I just stick em out there when they're like feeder goldie size and temps are stable.

At this point, they are good in the smaller pond I guess. The intake holes on the drain could still suck them in!
