Not overly scientific to say the least but some before and after pix.

Honestly, just feeding them 4 and 5 times a day with a good standard pelleted food and I do alot of water changes when I'm trying to to put on size.

And yes there's that daily ration of the 1/2 lb of shrimp kfc.......That might have contributed.........:rolleyes:

I've fallen in love with a cinnamon honey color Cha, that I'm hopeful to get
a tosai from KOI-UK to raise. His parent stock are from the same breeder
as the grow out cha's. He also has a creme colored one that is kinda different.

i love your fish. my koi grow much slower so im wondering, do i have too many fish in my pond. I have 16 fish between 10 and 18inches in a 3000 to 3500 gal pond. I feed them 2 to 4 times a day and i usually do a waterchange of about 25 percent once a week. HOW can i make my fish grow faster safely. NO ROIDS THANK YOU. LOL

Amazing size.

What should I look for in terms of body shape when I choose a seitaro tosai chagoi. They look slim from the first picture. Is it because they were not fed prior to shipment or are they naturally that way when young?

Oh dang, this brings back memories!

I had mine a year, don't remember if I got it through Koiphen, but I'm pretty sure I got mine from Kevin of Genki Koi from the same batch. It was in my old pond, and when I drained it for the new pond I gave it to a nice lady from our club who had a new pond. I think it was about 12" a year later from 6" when I got it. But Kiefer had a much better pond than I did at the time so his had maximum opportunity to grow a lot.

Lifeofaith, of any koi, chagoi are the most likely to give you great growth, mostly because they are part pig, I am convinced! lol! Good luck with yours!
