Just curious: is doitsu trait more or less recessive? If a doitsu spawns with non, how likely are the fry to be doitsu?

You will get both scaled and doitsu.

Wagoi vs. doitsu gives the basic punnet square for two genes with a lethal combo. Most books that talk about koi genetics will show scalation as a clear example of trait inheritance.

. When I bred the fish that took reserve at puget sound this year, moma was wagoi and dady was doutsu. As I remember the ration was about 3 to 5 in favor of wagoi and the doutsu had more redundant scales so were fewer of better quality.
