I just got 5 lotus seeds last week and all 5 are sprouting so it looks like I will have me some lotus! I'm just excited and would like to see how everyone else incorporates them in the landscape. Do you keep them in pond with Koi or external? I put mine in a cut 55gal drum and sunk it in the ground next to the pond.

Post em pictures

Thanks!

Don

I didn't have much luck with seeds, they sprouted and didn't do a thing but died. I have not done much better with cuttings either, so good luck  Maryann.

I'm going to sink a whiskey barrel halfway into the ground next to my pond, for my lotus. I always think of it being next to my pond but I guess it really could be anywhere it gets lots of sun.

I had mine setting in the 90 gal stocktank...it wasn't doing much so I moved it to a half barrel in full sun. The leaves look much greener now?

Mines in a stock tank and very slow going. I have 4 live pads and one dead one. No signs of a bloom yet. Will have to rethink placement next year.

I dug a home for mine . It's 5 by 6 by 2 foot deep. I used sand , clay , and pea gravel. It seems to like it.

My first lotus bloom today! This is the Double Rose Lotus I bought at Country Koi from Kenny & Eileen in April. It's in a hose bowl I got at Walmart and Robbie siliconed the plugs so it would hold water.
