I'm new to raising Koi's. I have a mud pond that is about 5-6' deep. I would like to build an 8 feet high deck, so about 2 feet above the water. Is there any concerns with using treated wood inside the pond? Will it kill the fish?

Sorry, I can't help you. Personally, I would do it. I would not do it in a traditional koi pond but in a mud pond, I probably would. However, maybe this reply will bump your question up and others can respond that know more than I do.

If treated with CCA or Chromated copper arsenate it will probably leach out of the timber and not do your fish any good.

There is always the option of using composite decking board or redwood. Both will cost more.

For longevity you should get rebar and pour a few concrete rectangular poles.

Here's the description from Lowes.

Severe Weather Ground Contact pressure treated exterior wood protected with Copper Azole (CA-C) provides lasting support and protection for all-purpose applications

Suitable for burial or contact with the ground and fresh water immersion applications

i'm about to do similar, 2nd deck of 2x4s over concrete base on my mud koi pond..
This pic doesn't show off the deck, but it gives you an idea.
the other one is in progress and i can show you the concrete pad before the decking goes on if it stops raining for a minute. ;0
