Here we have designed and begun to install a concrete koi pond in the front yard of a entry way.
There will be tube lighting underneath the coping and 2 led lights in the pond.
We have installed 300 ft of piping with 6 return jets 2 skimmers and a 6 inch bottom drain.

Yes and for that we designed the 6 return jets to push any lingering debris on the bottom and
slope 1/4 per foot directly to the drain

This time we did concrete with xypex, fiber mesh and poured in place monolithically.
We stripped the forms and finished the concrete smooth. We did have to wait a while for the glass to arrive because it has a custom anti-slip finish to the top layer.

Very impressive build. I'm not sure the bottom drain will work that well since it doesn't have a dome to direct the return flow from vertical to horizontal to sweep the bottom. Also, the grate could allow debris to clog it more easily. Otherwise, great job.

Thank you for your questions/remarks.
There is 6 return jets in this pond directed towards the drain.
The concrete underneath the drain grate is tapered towards the pipe so the drain works perfectly.
There is also two 3” skimmers to handle all of the redwood leaves that fall. The pond has been running for a while without any problems.

Good job on the monolithic placement of the irregular shaped pond. Must have been a busy day: placing, stripping, and finishing.
What is "fiber mesh" related to a monolithic pour?

Yes it was a busy week with plumbing, rebar and forms. Our team is able to handle any type of installation. We did strip the inside forms and finished the concrete smooth on the inside as well.
Fiber mesh is just a additive that goes into the concrete before we pour. It is just a extra step we take to insure the concrete is strong as possible.
We will post a video soon of the final product.
