However I had a pair just like that one and couldn't figure out what kind of Koi it is. I thought you may know.

Benigoi/orengi ogon.
Very rare hybrid and likely specially selected, bagged and shipped by a machine somewhere in Fl.

Aren't those solid orange kois usually been culled by the breeders? I got a lot of them too. but in Jamaica those solid orange fish sell faster than those black and white, or blue or bronse colors.
Regards.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. But IF you have one, you COULD call it an "Aka Muji" !

Why after four years do you ask?

A lot of times members do searches, see a thread that interests them and respond to it without realizing it is very old.

Not offended Wilma:cool3: (Just be there for me if I catch on fire). What happened is I culled about 40-50 koi from my main pond and put them in my Q Pond. That Saturday we were going to have a culling party where several people were coming to take them. The GFCI tripped and both air pumps went out and most of them died. The culling party was cancelled.
