I have just completed major installation in Hanford. The appx 20k gal total volume, the pond was built with settlement chamber and japanese mat chamber as inline filtration. These chambers are huge (under the boards) They measure appx 8ft deep, 10 ft wide and more than 20ft long, they hold almost as much water as the pond itself. The owner was never happy with the result. Water was always murky during heavy feeding season and the chambers couldnt provide. With the intention to aid clarity, there were add-ons of bead filters, sand/gravel, home made showers, patches work here and there. All these had to go.

So after two months of planning, Alvin (owner) gave me the green light. Nice thing about profidrum, it can be pump fed. We turned the gazebo into the filter area.
We removed the gravel and beads filter. These local guys came to rescue. There is no way I can do it by myself!

We decided to keep the old shower and adding another. The stainless steel bakki is from Norm at BW Koi. As matter of facts, everything you see here is coming from him. Lol. Except the carbon softener and RO filter

For those of you who familiar with profi. In pump fed mode, the sensors and fail switch are located in the dirty side.

The rdf is elevated to level with the shower

Alvin tested the city water tds reading 350ppm and his pond is at 400ppm currently, feeding hasnt take place in couple of weeks and I guess during past summer feeding the pond tds mustve been in the upper 700ppm. Our goal is to bring it down to under 100ppm
Direct trickling unfiltered city water had to stop. So 2.5cf carbon filter and 80k softener are installed along with commercial 800 gpd Reverse Osmosis. He is serious about growing GC, no more messing around.

at this moment, profidrum is the only rdf that can be pump fed, as far as I know. I was told that blue eco is working on electronic sensors for pump fed, but I havent got answers are yet.
Great job Vince!
The new shower looks fantastic... I'm wondering how long it will be before the diy one gets replaced with
another stainless steel one. :D:

Pump fed RDF before shower. Very interesting. Did you use two 3" pipes for both in and out?
Thanks for posting.

Just got a great review from the owner. This is the best compliment a client has given me.
