Will lost scales grow back on koi, and if so, how long does it take?
Thanks, FT

Can take awhile though and they may not line up normally. Here's a picture of a Chagoi that had an ulcer back in 1999. This pictures was taken in 2003.
I had a ginrin that lost a couple scales and they grew back fine. The new scales were not ginrin though. So you can tell where they were lost.

What about ones lost to spawning? Will they grow back normally more so than the Koi with an ulcer?
It depend on how deep into the 'quick' (like your fingers) the damage was done. One can lose an entire fingernail and have it grow back just fine. A stubbed toe with a black nail can sometimes have high ridges in it. depends but regrowth is slow.
