I want to build a pond thats 14ft by 7 ft by 6ft deep. Can I do it with clay?

I don't know how you would be able to do that. If you were fortunate enough to get a clay that would stand up without sliding, you might could carve that pond, but as soon as you put koi in it, they suck at the banks for insects and other goodies, and the sides end up eroding away. One of the importers locally had to redo his two large mud ponds because the sides had eroded to the point of nearly combining the two, and the sides were sloped to begin with.

The general rule of thumb is 3 to 1. For each 3 feet out go down 1 foot. I did a 2 to 1 and it has been holding well for 5 years.
