Great pond. I had never seen these pictures before and I really enjoyed them.
But, there you go with all the great rocks. I love what you did with the rocks in the waterfalls. Was nice to see before and after with water.
Just being nosy! Do you just order a truck load of rocks and come up with some very unusual ones or do you actually do some hand picking of them.
Really enjoy seeing pictures of your pond and the water clarity, what can I say. I know that you pond is very deep and seeing all the way to the bottom drains is impressive.

Filtration, filter maintenance & water changes.
The Q Pond uses an advantage15 bead/glass combo, Mary's ponds uses 2 advantage15 beads and 1 glass. I use large inefficient pumps that runs the filters' flow to their max. The Sac15's run at about 110 gpm. My Big Bertha beads each run at about 300 gpm.
Some pictures from the past.

I picked out some of the larger ones at StonesPlus in Jacksonville but the smaller ones were just truckloads that came direct from Tennessee mines.

So Stephen, which one did the spawning?
Pretty sure it was this one. It's been 74 hours now and no babies. So I looked at about a dozen eggs under the scope a few minutes ago and nothing was moving. I think what happened was as soon as I saw the eggs I took them out of the pond, prolly before the males had a chance to release their milt. I doubt if they got fertilized:cool3:

third world countries don't have as nice a place as the koi in your pond. If I die can I come back as one of Stephens koi?. Maybe a nice balanced 5 step kohaku with rich red beni and clean pearly white.

Had Bertha's 20 cubic ft of carbon replaced. After 5.2 million gallons the chlorine still tested 0.00 ppm but the water was getting a little cloudy. Can't have that. :nono: :nono:

Wow, 20cf... Bertha is absolutely HUGE... Was it starting to channel? Just curious if you couldn't have opened the top and stirred things up for the same effect?
I have a much smaller 2.0cf unit that has built in backwash pluming and electronic head. It's new enough that I don't know how well the backwash stuff works out. But the idea is to disrupt the channeling.
