I rescued this little fellow ,2 wks ago, as he was about to try crossing a busy 4 lane...He is a male Florida Box Turtle:yes:I'm hoping he'll find a Lady friend and they'll make LOTTTTSS of babies:D:

Toooo CUTE!!, the box turtles I knew up in MD where I grew up were not nearly so colorful! Thanks for being his savior! I hope he makes lottsa babies also.

nice job! Hubby jumped out Sat and pulled his twin out of the road, set him on the other side

I swerved to miss a good sized snapping turtle today. You don't dare approach them if you value your fingers at all.

Those snappers can be FEROCIOUS....especially the aligator snapping turtles:faint:
I ALMOST left him there and usually I'll carry them across to the 'otherside' of the road in the direction they were facing...but I just had to bring that fellow out to the county. I know we have them out here and I've even had the opportunity to encounter babies that were MAYBE the size of a silver dollar:yahoo:
