be careful.
my friend had a kobuta and i had a blast playing with it, still have the key ha ha ha
20 years ago I went to a fire/rescue call MVA
"old man Calhoon" was trying to load his bulldoser on to the trailer.
very experienced mechine operator. doser didnt have a roll cage.
was raining a little. ramps slick.
the doser weighed prob 2-3 times yours, and had a much lower center of gravity, and no back hoe.
I didnt think you could ever flip a doser.
yep-- it flipped when he was going up the ramp and it slipped off.:frown:
all we could see was his plad shirt and arm poping out from under the doser.
no rush any more.
glad to see you do have a roll cage, just dont test it out, please:cool2:
savannahrobinson
01-16-2007, 02:16 AM
Be very careful around that chipper.
Don't burn - you are going to need all that yummy mulch. Make a big pile somewhere out of the way, water it - it will start to steam. :D:
Takes about a year for it to reduce by half. Then its good for EVERYthing.
But you can use it as soon as it stops steaming as a topping.

I'm sitting here laughing after the "stuck tractor" episode. :) Seems like Savannah has good company now! Teheheheh!!!
Serious question: You're accumulating hardware but don't have anywhere to put it! You gonna build a barn to park this stuff in? Maybe one with a loft, power, a data feed, air conditioning, a fire pit outside, etc? (I'm thinking you need a guest house. I'll be happy to test it for ya. heheheh!)

crushed limerock is a good base for roads and driveways when placed on a good compacted dry sub base, just make sure if you dont pave it you have good drainage so water does not puddle or stay on top roo long.

Stephen, you're havin' WAY too much fun!!! :) When do I get to play with some of the Koiphenator's new toys???
On that gascan-labeling-thing you're doing, you might want to heed a word of caution: Get the yellow diesel cans for diesel and use the red cans only for gasoline. At some point, somebody is accidently gonna put gasoline in your new diesel tractor, at which point you're in for an expensive and painful mess. Gasoline in more than trace amounts will wipe the injector pump in a few short minutes (and with the new ultra-low sulphur diesel, it's gonna get even worse). Also, in a direct-injection engine (like the Kubota), you'll blow the tips off the injectors when you load it up even mildly as the gasoline detonates in the injector tip. And may God help you if you've got a glow-plug or a pre-heater!
With some of the prehistoric diesel engines, you could run a 50:1 or 75:1 mix of diesel/gas during the dead of winter to keep the fuel from gelling. Not anymore. With modern engines and injector pumps, even that level will quickly wear the system out. (It's interesting to note that Deere has a field test they run when presented with an engine warranty claim. If they detect ANY gasoline in the fuel... and the test is good to 1 part in 400-500... they'll flatly refuse to honor the warranty).
