So I've done two wen trims previously, on a cheek peice that hung down too low for my liking, and one on a damaged wen from being sucked into a powerhead. But I trimmed Marlon Brando's (my black and gold oranda) wen around his eyes for the first time. I took some pictures, not the greatest since I was going solo and didn't want to leave him out of the water any longer than I should have, but I forgot to put a memory card in and now I can't figure out how to get the pictures off the camera!
Anyway, back on topic, it went really well, I think I did a good job, he can see much better now, but I do have a tip. Previously I used a surgical scissors that I got from Foster and Smith, but I found that the wen slid everytime I snipped, and it was getting really frustrating and I didn't feel really sure of my self. Then I got the idea to use a cutical cutters that I had. Soaked it in peroxide and it worked great! I was able to get in and snip small peices away, I'll add pictures of the cutters I used in a little bit so you know what kind I'm talking about. But I was able to get very close to the eye without worrying about what I was and wasn't cutting.
Just thought I'd give an update. Pictures will follow!
