Blackwater's Aquatic Nutrition has its own booth. And, Koi Acres will have Tomigai for sale. And, Ultra Balance has its own booth. And, I believe Kodama will have food for sale. Genki Koi and SoBe Koi have indicated they will have dry goods as well as koi for sale, but I'm not certain they will have food. And, Hikari has a booth, but does not sell... except bags used in its display may be made available on Sunday instead of paying to ship them back. Hikari does not want to sell directly, since that puts them in competition with their dealers.

I was not able to entice Kenzen, Mizuho or FD dealers to get a booth. Maybe next year they will grow to appreciate how being at the major shows can grow their customer base. They purchase repeated ads to reach 2,000 readers of a koi magazine, and could reach that many in person by being at one major show. I think an in-person contact is more effective than an ad folks flip past. I know a lot of Tomigai was sold last year at the show, and it gained a lot of converts who now use it regularly.

I'm told that there are just two tanks in the show available for entries. Anyone who has not already registered should check on tank availablity. See the website for contact info.

It is going to be quite a competition in the larger sizes.

Still two 6 foot tanks available...Show is bringing back Goldies to the show. Lots of tanks and room for your fancies, shubunkins and all.

Will be speaking about buying a scope...or if ya have one, how to use it. Got questions? Bring 'em on to the seminar on Saturday.
And don't forget to sign up for the banquet. Gonna be a great show.

      All tanks are taken.

If somebody really wants to enter the show, they need to contact the show chair, Henry Culpepper (go to www.cfks.org for contact info), to see if a soft tank might fit in the center.

It is going to be quite a competition, with entries coming from all over the country.

Just got an email from Henry looking for 6 - 6' and 1 - 8' tanks in the local area for the show. Found four from the Gainesville Club. It looks like a record breaker with over 300 entries. There will be 8 vendor/show tanks for customers who purchase koi early enough to make the show judging.

I'm gathering my equipment and making sure I have oxygen...Cann't wait to start the set-up and to get those additional tanks under the tent.

We can use all volunteers! ...and the 'pay' is, well, pretty tasty. All who volunteer, and our vendors, are invited to a casual BBQ Friday night in the hospitality room. The BBQ is sponsored by Shirley Abell, who will be attending the show.

Only 38?... It is in the mid-40s this morning in Orlando, and getting down to 38-40 tonight. Seems strange after hitting 89 just 10 days or so ago. But, all the forecasts are saying we will be in the mid- to upper 70s during the show, with a chance of reaching 82. Sunny to partly cloudy, with no rain in the forecasts. It has been an unusually warm 'winter', with most flowering plants a month ahead of schedule. The chill this weekend seems all the colder after so many summery days.

Like everywhere, Orlando's weather has not been normal this winter. The current cool spell is the longest of the winter. But, all the forecasts agree that it will be a great weekend.

My water is cold enough that the fish are not complaining about fasting before the show.
