Anyone ever thought about treating the waste with chlorine tablets in a holding tank before going to the yard? Your yard will still be a muddy mess, but at least it won't stink.

It all depends on volume of pond, make of RDF, and settings on RDF, etc...but here's my best guess estimate for my pond
.7 gallons/cycle X 4 cycles/hour X 24 hours/day = 67.2 gallons/day
Oops! Sorry for hijacking your thread.
The DracoDrum only uses maybe 24 fl ounces of water during a 30 second cycle. Once the pond has been running with the RDF for a couple days the cleaning cycle should reduce to every 25-35 minutes, so let average to twice and hour. 16oz x 24hrs x 2 cycles/hr = 1152 fl oz or 9 gallons of water per day.
People forget that we are talking about a very small RDF here, so not much water is used compared to the larger drums.

You are so optimistic. There is no way I am going to get down to one cycle every 25-30 minutes outside of winter time, lol.
This beast is removing the issue of sponges clogging and the labor it takes to keep my water nice. I plan to increase my feeding a bit and growing monsters in this pond. Got poop will me more of a statement than a funny slogan.

Agreed on the optimistic. I have noticed a wide variance in cycle times 5min to 30min depending on time of day etc. Heavy feeding during the summer 5 min is standard but at night when feeding stops it will increase. In the winter if I stop feeding it may go several hours without a cycle not sure how long since the timer will only go up to 99 and then it starts showing other weird symbols that I can't decode.

though you might feed as much as the filtration can handle. the rdf will cycle when the screen is getting dirty and will mechanically filter 100 microns or under ..so really now it is up to the biofilter to be up to task per the max feeding he wants I feel. sorry to highjack the thread, but just felt if water is mechanically clean then it is up to the biofilter to uptake ammonia. less ammonia less algae and happy fishy fisher fish lol.
Looks fantastic! Get used to it
So far its doing well. Cycling time varies depending on the koi and their crapping but lately its been going every 18-25 minutes depending on the koi and their feeding. Discharge hose is working well. No noticeable smell or puddles.
Today I also had a hold put on some new Tamasaba. Kevin at Genki is getting in some from Marushin's new "Super Monster" line. I plan to grow out 6-10 of them in the pond. The last ones I believe were taken out by some large pleco. I removed all but 2-3 of those and plan to remove the rest now that I can see clearly. I may also make room by removing a few koi. I have to get out and measure soon and will make determinations once I see how they have done since the last measure. The removal of those will offset all of the new Tamasaba and make room for one or two new koi in March. Hoping to find a karashigoi but doubtful.
