The leaves on my hibiscus are being eaten by some insect. Is there anything I can use on them that is fish safe?

Any hints on what kind of insect it is?

I found some small, green grasshoppers on mine today and I just squoosed them!!!

That happened to mine last year. The plants were devastated. Could it be Japanese beetles?
Found them! Little green caterpillars. What do I do?
-- Carl --
Little caterpillars tend to graze after dark, then go sneak somewhere to hide through the day.
If you go out after dark with a flashlight you may find the problem easy to identify and to squish
A couple of deeply satisfying squishing sessions might reduce the problem to insignificant

If there are too many to remove by hand Dipel or any of the trade names for Bt should work also. Might not hurt to use some Mpede or Safer Soap as a sticker either. Though I'm not 100% sure of the effect of insecticidal soap on expensive fish. Bt shouldn't be a problem as it is found in the mosquito dunks sold for aquatic use.
I use Conserve as it is labeled for the China Mark Moth catepillar on aquatic plants....but it is $100+ a quart, so I use it sparingly.<g>

I wonder if the koi can eat them. If so, I might be able to find two little volunteers to pick them off.

I use GreenLight brand BT spray on the hibiscus and canna in my pond to get rid of the little green pillars and the roller worms. Doesn't bother the fish as it's just bt.
I'm pretty sure the koi would love them, a good source of protein. Oh, by the way guess how l'm typing this message?

I'm using a WII
Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) Microbial pesticide
Insect larvae vary in how susceptible they are to the many different Bt endotoxin proteins. For example, certain moths are particularly sensitive to the endotoxin protein called Cry1C. Based on a large number of studies, these active ingredients are not expected to cause harm to humans or the environment.
