Diggin almost done.. took 2 guys 3 days and approx... 40 yards of dirt later!
Concrete time, used chicken wire to hold concrete and for the form only.. fiberglass to provide all the strength.. One 4 inch bottom drain
Plaster time with glue and approx 1 1/2 inch of plaster all over, The blocks were stacked dry on a footer with rebar then, with the concrete pump filled all around at once.
Let the plaster set for approx a week, then started the fiberglass work.. myself.. have only a minimal fiberglassing experience. cut the mats in managable size, mix only what you can use in 20 minutes.. work on the corners first.. my advice.
After approx 15 gallons of resin and double layer of lamination, its time for the top coat. 2 UV resistant top coats or gel coat. tried work early in the morning to let the fiberglass cure in the day.. cooler,... more time to work..
MY advise, dont do fiberglass, liner much easier.. and cheaper, but SEAMLESS --- PRICELESS
Give the fiberglass a good hot week to cure.. over here the temps been in the high 80's so its good, in winter might be another story..
The filters are 150 gallon settlement tank, to a hozizontal matala mechanical filters then to fluid bead filter to UV and then to waterfall / lone TRP.
Everything uniseal, thanks to koiphen and its great threats.. had no problem working with uniseal..
Set in concte for the cone for the settlement tank.. concret dried and then fiberglass to seal the concrete.. it was easy..
Pictues of settlement tank concrted and fiberglassed
55 gallon tank for the mechanical filter with the matala, took 2 sheets of matalas.
Floating plastic beads were used for fluid bed filter, with air stones pumping air and blower setup for cleaning,, stainless steel mesh were used to keep the beads in the tank.
filled up with water took almost all night... the water bill will be gargengous.. but have no meter.. approx size 14 feet raidus and 90 degree at 6 feet deep average..

Had put in all the kois in the pond and been feeding them a lot, used my old filter medias to add bacteria to the filters.. The pond is now turning green.. My plan is to have the pond running green for approx. 3-4 weeks then turn on UV, light.
Very nice, thanks for sharing.
Very nice build and posts! You could also add a shade sail in the corner along the two walls if your pond gets too much sun. Great build and congrats!
congratulations, looks very nice..

Pretty design. I like the looks.
How many gallons of water?
That was cool. Great pictures. Did you stand on your head applying the fiberglass inside those barrels?
My husband once made me a kiddy cart to pull behind my bike (this was before all the $99 kiddy carts came out). Mine could hold two pre-school kids and 4 bags of groceries. It was plywood coated with bright yellow fiberglass. Had a little padded bench seat with seat belts for the kids.
After I got into ponding he wondered why people never did fiberglass for ponds. I think I'll send him this thread. Thanks.
