A tool you wish you had yesterday!

After spending over 45 minutes on trying to place a pipe through a uniseal I said to mysef there has to be an easier way so I devised the following tool:
      Name: tool1.jpg
Views: 1667
Size: 200.4 KB
This tool is compact and convenient and when not in use can be stored easily.

The above picture shows all the components you will need.
      1) Cap risers (3" for 2" uniseal, 4" for 3" uniseal & 5" for 4" uniseal)
      Cap risers purchased at https://www.nettechdi.com/categories...40-PVC-Risers/
      2) Pusher & support bars (1" x 1/2" x 8" with 1/2" hole in middle)
      3) Washers (2 qty 1/2")
      4) Nuts (2 qty 3/8")
      5) Threaded rod (3/8" x 18")
      6) OPTIONAL Bearing

There was no chamfer as well as no lubricant. It only took 1/2 minute to push pipe through the uniseal.
Normally you want to put the chamfer so you don't scrape the uniseal, but this was a test and it went in very easily.
      So here's what you do:
Drill your appropriate hole in your conatiner, barrel, etc.
Place uniseal in the hole then slide threading rod with washer nut & push plate through appropriate riser cap.
Put the pipe over the threaded rod and line it up with the uniseal.
Place the pusher plate, bearing, washer and nut on the outside of hole.
Now tighten it by hand, making sure everthing is lined up.
Use wrench to drive the pipe through the uniseal.
Turn the nut until the pipe hits the riser cap then loosen the nut and remove your "yesterday" tool!
      Have fun!

The simplest ideas are often the best ideas! Perhaps smearing a bit of vegetable oil on the inside of the uniseal would make it even easier to pass the PVC through?

      Hi Anne,
Those prices are for 200pcs and are good for the pond builders I purched mine
with this web site ( http://www.aussieglobe.com/uniseal3.htm ) it has all
sizes so watch for thickness of the pipe.

It's just a common PVC pipe cap that is flat on the end. Some have a dome and others flat. It differs by mfg. Also look at electrical PVC conduit caps. You could also use a short PVC coupling.
