So far so good here. No sign of powdery mildew, just insect damage and faded blooms. Today's pics per your request...

Bob they look really nice. I am so glad they are healthy. They will continue to grow until your first frost.

I do not know if mine are doing well or not. I put a few in the vegetative filter pond, and they kind of got overran by the melon swords and parrots feather, don't you think? I can't find the others.

Worked on the pond yesterday & today. Pulled out all of the Impatiens. Did a water change and netted the pond & stream.

Here are a few pics of what the disease looked like on my plants just before I pulled them out. Also a few pics of what the pond & stream looks like now.

As you can see the red Sunpatien at the top of the stream is growing & doing very well. I will pull it out before our first killing frost.

Please remind me again what type of grass is around the pond ... is it fiber optic?

Your pond is so beautiful even without the impatiens.

Thank you Darlene. The three big bunches of grass that is in the pond is Sweet Flag. The grass that is in the upper pond around the Red Sunpatiens is Fiber Optic grass.

The the Red Sunpatiens at the top of my pond has grown larger in the past two weeks. It is doing very well. The ones in the ground in my flower beds did not get as big as the one in the pond. The ones I have in pots grew very large too. I hope they all will keep blooming until our first frost. Hope to have them for another 4 to 5 weeks.

Anyone have any pics to share of your Impatiens this year?

I lost mine Nancy. Got the mildew and had to take them out last week. I was hoping it wouldn't happen but... Next year I will try something else.

Mine lived but they weren't as big as other years... and they looked better before yesterday
when it rained over 2" in 24 hrs.... The pink ones in the planter were the double flowering ones
that I'd never seen before but they all bloomed like crazy!

Steve they look beautiful. So nice to see how dark green your leaves look. Good to know that your plants do not get the downy mildew disease.

Time to start planning on what to plant bare root into our ponds & streams. So glad Spring is here.

This year I am only planting Sunpatiens. They did great bare root in the stream. Also they did well planted in pots of dirt. They did not do well planted in the ground. I do not have good dirt. I mainly have either red clay or sandy soil. I will plant mine as soon as I find the colors that I want.

What are your plans and choices of plants for planting this year?

They did well for me last year in my waterfall. Here is a pic of one of mine from last summer. I am planting Sunpatiens only from now on.

I bought Sunpatiens a couple of days ago. I could not find the bright red one like I had last year. I will keep looking in the next week. I will take my cuttings tomorrow and put them into jars of pond water. Once they are well rooted, I will plant them into the pond and stream. I will try to post pics tomorrow of the two different colors that I bought.

I remember Gordana had Marigolds in her pond last summer. I may try some this year.

Has anyone bought or planted anything yet?
      Nancy
