      Pacific rim bonsai exhibit

AT THE HEADQUARTERS OF WEYERHAEUSER IN FEDERAL WAY WASHINGTON IS CLOSING.

Sad to say the economy is such that the last day for the collection to be open to the public is april first.

The trees will be maintained by a limited staff until such time as the economy dictates a re-opening. Currently the display is manned by 4 full time workers and volunteer help. The new staffing will find those employed to be cut in half.

I was up there today taking large format photos. Nothing blooming yet. Will try and get up there again before they close, imagine when word gets out it will be a busy place.......

That's sad Dick. Have enjoyed your pictures of their trees. Guess its a sign of the times.

Was talking with Sharon Muth, owner of Bonsai NW, a retail shop who is on the weyerhaeser board of directors for the pacfic rim....she said she had loaned a few specimens to the exhibit that she may have to take back and care for. I think she got spoiled cause they took such good care of them, that all she had to do was stop by and visit....
