      DebDispo growout Journal 2008

Warm weather today. Pulled these two from the pond and took pics and measurements. Water temp is 60 today. Excuse my photagraphy skills. Very hard working without assistant and keeping one's subjects still enough to snap a few quick ones. Here is a brief history. I chose #18 in the lottery and met Russ & Kari at the Louisville show to pick up. I brought dh along with me and he bought me another one as anniversary gift . So I ended up with 2. They were placed in pond mid June and measurement at that time were 9 inches. Today my measurement was 13 on #18 (Yoshiko) and 12 1/2 on second one (Yoshi). They were fed Microbelift summer staple, Microbelift fruits and greens, dried silkworm, frozen peas, oranges, and watermelon. They are most fond of frozen peas. Ok here they are....

      Hi Debbie,

They look great. It was nice meeting you and your husband in Kentucky. We plan on coming back again next year. Please say hello to your husband for me.

Thanks Russ!! It was geat talking with you and Kari. The herd is staying in the pond for the winter. I wanted him to build a small cover over the pond and instead of something small I come home to find a practically a full blown greenhouse. LOL.

5/1/09 update. No growth over the winter still at 13 inches on #18. We didn't catch the other one. Pond was covered all winter and filters were off when air temps reached 40's. Water temps never dropped below 40 during winter and we had several days of teens and a couple of nights when temps were lower than that. Pond is very green and we are working on getting it moderately cleared. Thanks Russ and Kari!!
