      Setup for basement

Hello all, want to build a wood box in the basement for the koi. Just a temp until summber, I like to be at lease 3 feet deep. I got a pond liner 10X10, and just wondering how big is the box can I build. I never build anything before, so is kinda stupid question to ask. Anyhow, please help out. Thank

You mention Temp... The cost may add up with all the lumber... You might figure out a materials list and price it then price the round indoor tanks that take minutes to setup...
If the tank is going to have 3 foot side and 6 inches overlap on the rim, this leaves 3 feet of material for length.
      So you could build a 3 x 3 box

Consider using plywood on the inside to add strength and support the liner. Many people also add insulation to help control heat loss...

Hi there, I have a lots of 2X4 wood in my basement, the only thing I need is plywood. So it's going 3 feed long and 3 feed wide right? Thank you for your help.

Heres how you figure the liner...
3 feet down two sides + the overlap at the top... (Over the edge) The remaining is what will be at the bottom.
You could go with zero over lap and make the tank 4 feet wide at the bottom with two 3 foot sides...

You will be much happier with it being closer to 4 feet x 4 feet ... Consider using only an inch overlap at the top...

Hi there again, if I go with zero over lap with my 10X10 liner will fit 4 feet by 4 feet right?

It's in the basement, so you don't really need it to be 3 ft deep. If you can settle with 2.5 ft deep and with a 10x10, you can build a 4x4x2.5 tank. I did just that with a 10x10 liner in my garage.
