How are your growout Sanke doing?

I thought we should give equal time to the sanke.

My sanke is slowly catching up to the shiro . He had issues with bugs earlier and the formalin fixed it . but very very nice looking .

I have a sakai (hiroshima) who is very pretty , this one looks like a cousin ..

Mine eats like the rest of them. The beni looks strong and there is more sumi coming up.

Mine eats with the big gals when she/he is out... but she/he goes missing for a couple days at a time. The only place she/he can be is in my 4" bottom drain pipes... So she/he is earning her/his new name... "Piper".

Of the three growouts (one Showa, one SU, one Sanke) the Sanke is the biggest and boldest. She shoves koi over twice her size out of the way to eat. Bene still looks good, sumi is about the same. Quite a bit of growth. So far, so good...

It's like watching your own kids grow. I don't notice it until one day I look at them and think...wow...they grew. My Sanke is less shy about eating than my Shiro. My Shiro hardly eats at all except for a quick grab and run. Maybe because it's the smallest fish of my herd.

      Moved them outside

Moved the sankes outside and took pictures first. Largest is about 11.5" and the other is around 10"...nice growth in a small amount of time. They are continuing to eat well in with the big guys. Here are the pcitures before they were promoted.

Piper has been in the pond (not in the pipes) for 2 strait weeks now. Maybe we are past that stage. This sanke was a good inch larger than the 2 SUs when they first arrived, but I think they are all about the same size now. The beni did come back after my dark garage QT and It looks like it's getting a sumi on it's forhead... Still a nice looking sanke.
