Exclamation Lotus Land Koi Farms Nisai/Tosai Kohaku WWKC Group Buy - Ending 9/15/08

The WorldWide Koi Club is pleased to announce the WWKC Lotus Land Koi Farm Nisai/Tosai Kohaku Group Buy. This event is exclusively for WWKC members and is intended to be a good opportunity to purchase some quality kohakus. This is not a growout in the sense that there will be no competition.

For this group buy, there will be 35 tosai kohaku and 15 nisai kohaku available for purchase. Tosai will cost $200 and nisai will cost $400. As an added bonus, those purchasing the $400 nisai will have the option to upgrade to one of four $800 nisai, when their turn to select comes up. These $800 nisai would ordinarily be offered at between $1,000 and $1,200.

All of these koi will be hand picked by Brady Brandwood specifically for this event. Initially, members will be limited to the purchase of one koi. If, after a date to be announced, there are still koi remaining for this event, members may purchase a second koi. The order of selection will be determined by some random method. If there is a second round of selections, the selection order will be reversed. In other words, the person that selected last in the first round would select first in the second round.

Selections will be made from pictures of the koi. The selection pictures will depict one koi each. There will be 50 tosai to chose from and 26 nisai from which to chose, so the last person selecting a tosai will be able to chose from 16 and the last person choosing a nisai will be able to chose from 11, including the four $800 nisai. All members may purchase mud time for their koi for $250.00. One lucky member will be randomly selected and the WWKC will purchase the mud time for them!

Ordering will begin on August 15, 2008 and end on September 15, 2008. The cost of shipping is not included in the purchase price. Once the pictures are posted on Koiphen, no one else will be allowed to participate in this event.

The pictures of the tosai will be available by September 20, 2008 and selection will begin shortly thereafter. The pictures of the nisai will be available by October 1, 2008, and selection will begin shortly thereafter. Shipping will commence shortly after selection occurs. These koi are bred and raised in North Carolina so they do not have to be shipped from Japan as has been the case in some of our other events.

Each participant in this growout will receive a FREE DVD of the Fall pond pull at Lotus Land Koi Farms that will contain footage of the koi being offered in this group buy! Though this is not a grow out competition, we encourage you to post pictures and updates in the Lotus Land Koi Farm Group Buy forum that will be created.

PLEASE GO TO THE BELOW LINK TO ORDER AND PAY FOR YOUR KOHAKU:

These pics are representative of the type of quality and pattern that the tosai will have.

If I'm for a pinch, I might be in for a pound...

Any example pictures of the $800 nisai?

While I'd love to jump in on this offer, I'm a little leary of the actual valve/quality of the tosai that would be offered at $200. Of the representative koi that were pictured, I found 3 of them on Brady's For Sale thread on his website and 3 of them were priced at $200, $300 and $400.
Random lottery seelction from a herd of $400 would be a good deal but paying $200 for a lottery selection of primarily $200 koi is not.

I know some one that has a birthday in September and wouldn't you know it, just a few days after the 20 th.

Naw, that person wouldn't want it, has to many already.

Will the nisai be marked if they are male or female?

I will be in; now if I can just squirrel away enough allowance between now and then...

I may be willing (tho it probably will not be allowed) to drive down and take a look at these animals to verify they exist and talk someone into setting my choice aside so noone else can pick it! (kidding!!!)

I will likely do a tosai, the nisai are probably out of my range of saving in this short a period, and no birthday to help me until January!

Unless I am mistaken, and I am sure Brady will explain, those pics were of fish of the same quality that were being offered in the spring and are not in the mud. These will be tosai sold in the fall after being in the mud.
