I'll make a note of your interest. I have no idea of the shelf life, but most dry "chemicals" last quite a long time.

Dry chemicals, when we get them in and label them, we figure a shelf life of 5 years and after we pitch it.

Really though, in a cool dry location, shelf life is indefinate.

We have a lot of regulations that prevent us from using old stuff though.

Wet chems are 2 yrs, according to what we are allowed by fda and any other regulatory body that comes in here

I can get it wholesale and would be willing to get a group buy together if enough people are interested

I would be interested in splitting the wholesale cost on it.

See what you can do Stacey! I can also get it, if you've got enough on your plate already......but either way we need to have this in the arsenal.

I'll take 200 grams if it works out.

      Thanks,

      Karl

      A word of caution . . .

Please be careful with the dosing on this one. I have heard an overdose can cause curvature of the spine in Koi. I haven't seen this happen personally, I have not used it, after hearing that story.

Hopefully Karl, or someone will do some tests to see if it can be as scary as I've heard. As with all chemicals, dose carefully! It souns like some have had good luck too.

      Happy Ponding!

Since you use it as a bath, a little goes along ways. Based on the CNYkoi calculation, 100g of Oxolium will make about 42gallons while 4g of the pure Oxolonic Acid will make 42 gallons.

From a retail pricing standpoint, cheaper initial outlay for Oxolium versus the cheaper price per gallon of bath water for Oxolonix Acid if you anticipant needing a LOT.

Wholesale bulk princing for Oxolonic Acid would proabley then make it a non-brainer decision.

I have someone giving fish a daily "bath" right now. It's like .5 grams for 5 gallons of water (actually, it's .47-something, but my gram scale isn't that detailed ).

I just got a 100 grams ... but may be interested in more.

I feel strongly enough about this that it should be in your War Chest. Not everyone can get injectibles. In fact, most can't -- and then feel badly because they can't help their fish. This is a legal alternative that works well.

Count me in on a group buy. I guess 100 grams would be plenty.

I would also be interested in being part of the group buy. I have used it but it has been awhile.

So, how did it work? And how did you use it? I'm looking for anecdotal info from folks who've used it before. There appears to be many methods of treatment.

This is like all the other meds: you should have it before you need it, because when you need it, it's too late to order it.

I used a container or tank of pond water and used oxilium powder. Put fish in for 2-3 hours. Used a airstone. Watched fish closely, if stress or struggling, I would remove. Dip in a container of clean pond water and put back in pond. I did this every other day for 4-5 days. It seemed to be less stressful than tri-cide and cheaper.

So who is going to order the master lot for the group? Stacey?

My prazi was 100 grams and came in a nice round container with screw on top. Maybe we could find the containers at a beauty supply or wholesale drug store supply. We need those nice containers that come in cosmetic bags or large pill bottles.

Lee, I have also used it in a QT tank. But that is tricky because you have to change out the water (100%)every other day using pond water and you want the temperature to be as close as possible. I used two 100 gallon QT and would switch back and forth. But this will only work on small fish because of the size of my tanks.
