      cpponds F-7 Shintaro Sanke

Why did I pick this fish? Well, I would have preferred a couple of the others. However, of the ones that were left, from what I could tell, it looked like it had a decent hi pattern , minimal sumi as well as nice shiro. I really could not tell much from the pic, so I am hoping for the best.

      Yea it sure is!
Look at the hiban on the head. It makes a yin-yang type look on the koi!
Its odome isnt too bad. Lets hope that the odome part shrinks down to leave the koi's tail white.
Thats a nice sanke. Lets hope this puppy develops some sumi. It probably will if you put it into a higher hardness water after it develops a bit more.

The fish arrived today. The shiros look very stressed. The sanke is very nice. Apparently I do better picking from tiny, blurry pics.

I am going to post this in my SU journal too, so forgive the duplication.

Congrats on that sanke. It looks like that second step will break free. Btw, what are their lengths? Look large, but its probably just a small bowl.

      Small bucket.

I guess they are between 6 and 8 inches.

If you look at the first pics, there does not appear to be much underlying sumi, but when this koi was in the 240G aquarium, I could see lots of underling sumi right up to where the small dot is below that is circled in black. Now, it is developing where the blue circle is and I did not really see that coming up, at all. Where the small dot was in the black circle is a nice patch of sumi.

That is pretty neat, the sanke went from almost no sumi to having a decent amount. Just goes to show how much they change

It will be a real nice Aka Sanke if the sumi comes up in the blue.

Yes, it looks like it's heading in the right direction.

I got a good look at it today. The sumi is coming up strong in that spot.
