I'm most likely going to scrape, scope, and move these guys to the main pond this weekend. They have been at temp for 4 weeks and not a problem found. I'll take pictures for size also.

I know 4 weeks is kinda pushing it, but my QT is on the dark side in the garage. So I do loose color the longer they are in the garage. So far I have been lucky in that the color slowly returns with time.

If I do it Sunday it'll kinda be a fathers day gift to myself.

I move then today. I figured if I keept after it I could get it done today and have pop's day off...

The first two pictures are "Mascara" and the second two are "Mariah". My wife is being hopeful they are females. Mariah has lost some color do to my dark garage, but I think it will come back. They are both in the main pond swimming, eating, and happy as two clams.

Mascara is about 6" and Mariah is about 7"

Well after just a day and a half of being out in the pond their sumi has filled back in. So both now have nice solid sumi again.

These 2 are by far the smallest in the pond, but there is a group of 6 little ones that more or less school together. One or two of the small group are more often with the large Koi, but they all mix it up.

These two are real bottom scavengers and usually not far from each other.

Brad, I really don't know how small they are but you said they are on the bottom eating the algae a lot.

Are you concerned about them being sucked into your bottom drain?

No, not really. They are both very active and both strong swimmers. It could happen I guess. They would wind up in my settlement chamber. If it did happen I'd just drain it down to within a few inches of bottom, add a 6' ladder, then go down after them with a small net and a small bowl.

      Spring Update

Every spring I drain down my pond so I can catch, health inspect, and take a few bowl photos. This year that was done last Sunday (the 8th). These pictures were taken then. The black lines in the bowl are one inch apart.

I have two Shiros. The first 4 shots are of Mariah, and next the 7 shots are of Mascara. They are both turning out pretty darn nice, Thanks Matt
