what a great read from start to current... im lucky to stumble upon your thread, picture perfect and lots of space... its sure was a relief to find the fish back after the long winter, will surely be looking forward to the 2nd year additions...
Thanks for sharing your piece of heaven with us. :D
Thanks
But the sad news is that it seems to be only between 3-5 of them that survied the winther Thats a 50-70% lose
I`m note sure that I want to risk the "A-team" with that odds. But I dont have a second pond. I`m considering building a indoor pond for them. I realy dont know what to do. I have deleyd everything for another two weeks, that gives me until June/July to decide what to do .
The 120 tosais will go into the mudpond in about two weeks - I dont have a choice there - and they dont cost anywhere near "the A-team". I`m going to the dealers place over the weekend, and I will bring you some new pics

kinda sad that some didnt make it but guess that is how it is with nature... maybe the tosais will be much better as they will be more adaptable to their new environment... guess only time will tell...
then i hope the remaining few of the original batch will breed soon!
God bless
Hey Habs,
Very nice Mud pond that you have there... Beautiful winter sceneries as well. Don't give up on the missing Koi as they will show up.. I have a natural pond as well and had thought I lost mine also but as the water gets warmer in later spring the rest came up..They were down in the bottom waiting I guess..Some Koi warm up faster then others.. As for the winter months I have a wind mill which keeps my ice open all year round. So you might want tolook into getting a Wind Mill.. They are not that exspensive at all...The windmill has kept my fish alive for three winters now.. Also the pond went down three feet and it still did the job.. I was amazes for sure...
I will try and add some photos in the future.. Good Luck with your new Koi...
