*to assist in picture taking some use elbigan to calm fish, or you can spin fish in bowl by using one hand on head and one towards rear of body or with both hands over head/eye area gently shake back and forth several times, this will disorient fish for a few seconds for a clean shot

I have a pair of these beauties. I won't measure until late October, but based on sight alone they appear to be at least 14"+ right now...

I am not sure if my pictures are ok or not, but this is the best I could do. I tried to catch her but it is impossible in my green pond. She disappears in a second. I hope this is good enough...
My Chagoi is 17 inches long. It looks close to 16' in these pictures, but remember she is down in the water.
She grew 8 inches since April.

      Chagoi 12 to 18 inches

This chagoi was 12 inches when the fish arrived at our house on April 22, 2007, and measures 18 inches today September 23, 2007, starting and ending pictures in blue tubs with inches carefully laid out below:

      REQUIRED

      Chagoi Final length: 18 inches

      OPTIONAL
Chagoi start length: (if known) 12 inches
      Pond Size: 900 gallons
      Stocking Rate: 5 koi
Feed Rate: 0.5 pounds per day for 5 koi
      Feed type: Rangen Koi Color
      Water Changes: None
Water Treatments: Occasional PP treatments as need for water quality maintenance, lots of baking soda to maintain KH in 300 to 700 ppm range, calcium chloride and Epsom salt to maintain GH in 150 to 300 ppm range.
      Attached Images Attached Images
Still working at a big chemical plant full time at age 77 now. Still using potassium permanganate to regularly clean up the pond and the koi. Have developed a package of age regression technology to become younger instead of older. Doing great!

I started with one of the smaller fish in the growout. I wish I had more time to feed. Looking to build a large pond next year I hope so I can grow them larger.

      Roddy,

Appears more "bronze" color than the rest, was this luck of the draw or maybe a result of high GH? Have you raised other chagois and how did they turn out?

Wow! So far it looks like the largest chagoi growout is approximately 18". Maybe I have a chance after all. I purchased two of these beauties. I haven't measured them yet, but one appears to be about 18" while the other is slightly smaller at 16"+. Man, are these guys friendly! They started hand feeding when they were still in QT! I love these guys! Can't wait for next year's growout! I'll post pics this weekend...if I can pickup a blue bowl by then...

If it stops raining, I'll pull Gherkin. HE's always the first one to the food. Problem, I didn't measure him when I got him. I won him. Maybe its on the thread.
