      :o :o Sarge...This is what I understand about settling chambers (((I hope someone will correct me if I am wrong))) :o :o

      They need to be at the same level as the pond (((so if you have 1.5' above ground then the settling chamber can be 1.5'above ground)))

      They need to be 10% of your pond size to give the dwell time that will settle the debris.

      The pipe that goes into the settling chamber from the bottom drain needs to be up 1/3 from the bottom of the settling chamber.

      The out going pipe from the settling chamber should be 9-12" from the top.

      The bottom of the settling chamber should be cone shaped.

      You can dig a hole and use a liner to make one, and it can be square if you cone shape the bottom.
