      Power interruption notification...

In the back of my mind I seem to recall reading of an electronic device that actually calls you on your cell phone in the event of a power interruption it notifies you. I have searched these boards in vain trying to find the thread. Does anyone remember or know of what these are called or...when the big guy can find one?
      Thanks, Unk

I believe that X10 can do that. You can also use a PDU or Smart-UPS to send you an email.

I will find some more information and reply later.

      try
      www.x10.com
      www.smarthome.com

and if all else fails do a search for ""home automation"" on your favorite search engine.

some of the little more expensive battery backups you can buy for computers. when hooked up to a computer. you can install a little program to email, telephone, pm you in a varying chat program. guessing around $150 on up price range for batterybackups that come with right software.
Pond and Construction Forum 101 good place for any first timers to the forum. for finding resources and general info.
